The show I want to watch

Let’s be honest, there is a lot of good video out there these days. A few guys take a trip to Belize or Christmas island and they come up with something rivaling the production values of a lot of what you see on TV these days.

There are also a whole lot of people putting out really, really good looking work, professional type stuff, story telling and drama and capturing the spirit of the chase. So, who would I like to see liven up the Buccaneers & Bones format?

1. Anything by those GeoFish guys. They do solid work.

2. I think Jim Klug could likely tell some pretty good stories if given the series/show format and I’d love to see what he’d do with it.

3. I’d also love to see what Dan Decibel would do, given the opportunity. Such goodness coming out of so many folks there in South Florida.

Those are just three guys/teams putting out good stuff these days, and there are so many more.

  1. Great, the link is fixed. I will check them out. I found a few bonefishing in the Bahamas videos too that were pretty good. One guy fished the mangroves from a SUP and has almost perfect release though there was a cut in the video. The other is a bunch of guys in North Andros. Not the best handling but I popped a note to them about the #keepemwet conservation movement.

Watch “Bahamian Bonefish” on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/130444890

The second one is a SUP angler fishing in the mangroves. Lucky to get that bone to hand…. https://vimeo.com/119047936

Here’s to seeing more flats gamefish handled properly in the social media age this year.

    Appreciate your good work,
    Eric

  2. Luck? That was mad skillzI possessed! That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

  3. I’m on board with your suggestions Bjorn. The Geofish guys in particular are a blast.

I’d also love to see what Ivan Orsic (Yukon Goes Fishing) could do with big time resources. He’s been on a bit of a hiatus, but I’ve always been a fan of his stuff.

  4. Regarding Buccaneers and Bones, I think their format is getting stale. Bringing in celebrity guests (most of which who know little to nothing) in addition to their normal lineup only goes so far. As a conservation organization pushing the show………BTT would be far better served having some of their no-name members get drawn to spend a few days with Lefty, Yvon, etc and let their excitement show through. Getting to bonefish with the “big name guys” and giving a normal guys perspective on things would be refreshing.

  5. I don’t think BTT is putting anything in, money wise, and it ends up as a good commercial for them, so I can understand why they’d keep it up… but yeah… it could use a re-boot.
