I have all the flies I need. I have too many. I’m leaving a whole box at home. I am likely bringing 500-600 flies, almost all of those I tied. I’ll probably use 10 or, if it gets really crazy, 15.
Still, I tie. It is my version of crafting. I don’t do woodworking. I don’t paint. I don’t garden. But, when I need to go do something besides doom-scroll or overthink youth soccer, I might head out to my tying desk and tie some flies.
I don’t tie trout flies. Tie a #16? I don’t think so. #8’s are the smallest I’ll go these days. I tie meat.
