Bait and a spinning rod? Oh Bjorn, what have they done to you?
My girlfriend and I have taken 3 trips in the passed year to the Keys. Mostly DIY. All on a budget and it’s been awesome every time. We’ve got the system down pretty good. Shoot me an e-mail if you’d like some details! Would love to share.

We go once a year to Islamorada. Easy trip and can definitely do it on a budget. We trailer our boat from NC, rent a house (most rentals will negotiate, esp in the fall) and then splurge once or twice on a guided day of fishing. Happy to share more info w/ you via email when you start planning.

I winter in s. Florida fom mid-Nov. thu April & chase bones, tarpon, permit, snook, peacock bass, etc. Hit me up if you want some additional info from what the others might provide.
I am going to HAVE to get down there.
Used to fish on Sanibel Island late Spring/early Summer. Excellent sight fishing for snook cruising the beach on the Gulf side that time of year.
