Florida doesn’t look so bad…

Totally ripped this picture off from the Saltwater Experience.

Florida… maybe I’ll head to FL for a little fly-meets-fish action if and when I can scrape enough loose change together.  That doesn’t sound like the worst plan of action. The above is from the folks at Saltwater Experience.

Who has been and how was your experience?

  1. Bait and a spinning rod? Oh Bjorn, what have they done to you?

  2. My girlfriend and I have taken 3 trips in the passed year to the Keys. Mostly DIY. All on a budget and it’s been awesome every time. We’ve got the system down pretty good. Shoot me an e-mail if you’d like some details! Would love to share.

  3. Sounds good Dan. I’ll shoot you an email.

  4. Oh, I’m not slinging bait, no worries. Just LOOKS beautiful there.

  5. We go once a year to Islamorada. Easy trip and can definitely do it on a budget. We trailer our boat from NC, rent a house (most rentals will negotiate, esp in the fall) and then splurge once or twice on a guided day of fishing. Happy to share more info w/ you via email when you start planning.

  6. Hey Mr. Dunsmuir,
I winter in s. Florida fom mid-Nov. thu April & chase bones, tarpon, permit, snook, peacock bass, etc. Hit me up if you want some additional info from what the others might provide.

  7. I am going to HAVE to get down there.

  8. Used to fish on Sanibel Island late Spring/early Summer. Excellent sight fishing for snook cruising the beach on the Gulf side that time of year.
