So… Christmas Island looks kind of super awesome…

Yeah… I wouldn’t mind going here at some point.  Ya know.  Just for giggles.

Fantastic looking teaser for the video.  I’ll be on the look-out for this.

Andros

I was only there a week, but it feels very much like a part of my soul.

Deneki put up some pictures and I love every single one.

Psst… more free bonefishing

Seems like it is the time of year for folks to start giving trips away.  This time, it is Frontiers and Abaco.

The catch, however, is that you need three buddies who are willing to pay full price and then your trip is free.

I don’t have buddies like that. If you do, you are sitting pretty and are about to go fishing in Abaco.

A beautiful thing, I miss dearly…

The Bahamas…

(I hope this video comes up… it wasn’t working in the preview and I don’t know why, this is where I found it… the guy who made it is Ryan Lightbourn)

My favorite kind of bonefishing…

Free.

Angler Adventures is raffling off a free stay at North Point Riding Club on Grand Bahama for two. I really should have kept that to myself, reducing the odds and favoring my winning, but I’m just a giver.  That’s what I do… give.  However, if you learn about it HERE and you win, I expect to be the other rod you bring along.  Deal?

One trip

I was asked at a customer site yesterday “If I had one place to go, where would I pick?” and it was an easy answer.

There are some really fantastic places… Andros… Xmas… Los Roques…

But, if I were going ONE place right now, and money were not an options, I’m pretty sure I’d be on a plane right now on my way to St. Brandon’s Atoll.

San Diego Bonefish

Reposted from the archives.

Yeah, there are bones in San Diego Bay.  They are not as big as they get… well… in most places.  Doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with them though.

This isn’t the kind of bonefishing most of us think of… no walking the crystal flats looking for subtle movment.  This is sinking line and blind casting.  If you have a kayak, you can head out there yourself.

If you are looking for a guide (like SoCal Fly Fishing Outfitter), you can pick one up for about $350 (before tip).

This trip is certainly under $1,000.  You’ll just have to take another trip for the mangroves and conch.

On bait, some fish around 2-3 pounds  can be caught, although fly fisherman tend to get smaller fish from the reports I’ve read.

San Diego has bonefish

I know they do… I’ve seen pictures, I’ve talked to people who catch them there.  These are bonefish in my home state.

I’m actually in San Diego today!

and…

I won’t be catching any bonefish.  Work.  In, working, sleeping, working and flying home.

Curses.

I’m going to have to find some really good potential customers down in San Diego so I’ll be required to take people out bonefishing to seal the deal.  So… if you are in a decision making role in a large company in San Diego and you are interested in enterprise software that automates the discovery of expert coworkers… yeah… give me a call.

Totally lifted from Reuters, but that's me.

Business, not bonefish in San Diego. Next time bonefish… next time.

Trout Setting, in Spanish

Cuba continues to look kind of awesome.

Check out the mother of all troutsets at :45.

Been there.

Nice that the bone got tagged… well played.

I’ll add, I don’t speak Spanish, so, sorry if they said “Death to America” anywhere in there.
