Inagua

This seems like a very cool place, it must be said. I’ve also heard it is a sensitive place so days on Inagua are limited to preserve the resource. I found this story about the place and thought I’d share.

More than 70,000 West Indian flamingos, the Bahamas’ national bird, nest in Inagua. Inagua National Park Warden Henry Nixon and I watched hundreds of the pink birds from the bank of a pond in the shade of mangroves. Soon, I was rewarded with an even more spectacular sight — a flock of roseate spoonbills flying with flamingos, all pretty pink.

  1. I have been lucky enough to have been there are two occasions. Maybe the best bonefishing I have ever seen. Many permit as well. It is a crazy place and if you can ever pull it off do it

  2. Always great to see the flamingos anywhere. I’ve seen some on Acklims Island walking on white sand surrounded by blue water! Magnifico!
