This is me, fishing with Avalon down in Cuba in the Jardines de la Reina. This is back in the mangroves… deep in the mangroves and Matt Hansen was Johnny on the Spot with the video. What you’ll see here is me botch two bonefish in about 4 minutes. It was pretty difficult stuff to fight a fish in, but it was exactly what I wanted to be doing.
Warning… there is some profanity, in case you are worried about your ears bleeding.

Fun to watch and so typical of my experiences.
Nice shots! 90′ into the wind……..
Are you using flies with a weed guard in that stuff?
I was in Cuba in the late fifties (57-58) while in the Navy. Little fishing but fell in love with the people and the island. Tough fishing but real fishing.
Hey Mark, no weed guards… didn’t have a problem with fouling. That bottom was plenty weedy, but it didn’t stick up like turtle grass does so it wasn’t a problem. Cool place to fish, even if I have no idea how we would have landed a fish in there.
