2011, a look back

Wow… what a year 2011 was for me.

I started out the year as a stay-at-home dad with a very-much less than awesome domestic sitch.

In the span of 365 days I re-joined the working world, ended a 7 year marriage, moved into my own place, became a part-time single dad and found a very, very nice woman to close the year with. Upgrade.

I’m still a dad, just not 24/7.  That takes some getting used to, but I’m adjusting, as is my little sidekick.

From a fishing perspective, I had two trips to the salt. The first was to Andros South as part of FIBFest II. What a fantastic experience.  I’ll always be grateful to Andrew at Deneki for that opportunity.

Andros

The second trip was to Hawaii to close the loop on the past 8.5 years and I pretty much did just that, although the fishing was beyond tough.

I had some nice carp and some decent trout fishing in there too, but my days-0n-water saw a steep decline as I dealt with the plummeting Domestic Tranquility Index and new job at a startup.

As 2011 comes to a close, I have to say… I feel more excited about my future than I have in a great, long while.

Thank you for reading the blog and being a part of Bonefish on the Brain.  I’m looking forward to keeping it up in 2012.

Happy New Year and I hope you have ample time in the salt in 2012!

(PS – I’m in Montana as I write this and won’t be updating until I get back to Cali around the 3rd).
