I could totally go here. Seychelles

Fly Water Travel sure does go to some interesting places… I’d like to make it out that way at some point (might have to wait until after the whole startup thing pays off).

  1. Nice. What’s with the music, though? I kind of have a love/hate thing going on with it… seems a weird choice for a flats fishing montage but I guess the Seychelles are kinda French (right?), soooo, I guess that makes sense– not that jazz is necessarily French or anything, but stuff like that reminds me of Paris, which I have been to but I was 14 or 15 (I can’t rightly remember) so I can’t say I absorbed much of the culture. I think I was a “skater” then so I spent the entire time wishing I had my board so I could grind on all the stone steps and stuff. I also remember (vaguely) imagining I saw naked people everywhere… but I was mid-teens so there again that’s just par for the course: no culture, just skating and naked people wherever you can find ’em.

…oh, and I also wish to be there, but have almost no chance unless that’s where Heaven is and I stop everything I’m doing right now and be good for the rest of my life… I wonder if using ellipses is a sin of some kind? If so I’ll never see the Seychelles.

  2. P.S. By “there” I mean the Seychelles, and also 🙁

  3. If Ellipses are a sin… I’m in big, big, bit trouble.

I was in Paris when I was 21 and it was largely awesome. It featured no skating, but some naked people, lots and lots of wine, a great deal of learning and some friendships I still have. I had just learned to fly fish the year before and I thought about it often, but didn’t have a chance to do any there… but when I got back I caught a couple of steelhead on the fly on the North Umpqua River.

The Seychelles are up there with dream locations, but places like Andros or even Grand Bahama are pretty awesome and much, much less expensive to get to.
